Our community has two full-time priests: Very Reverend Father William Cassis, who is the Presiding Priest (Proestamenos) and Reverand Father Ciprian Streza, who is the Assistant Priest (Voitho)

 Fr. Bill
FATHER BILL was born January 13, 1950, in Spokane, Washington to Greek-American parents. His Greek heritage is linked to Lamia and Arcadia Greece. He attended public schools in Spokane and graduated in 1968 from Shadle Park High School.

He entered Hellenic College in 1968 and received his B.A. in 1973. He entered Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and earned a Masters of Divinity with honors in 1975. Father Bill was ordained to the holy Diaconate at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Spokane, Washington, by Bishop Meletios of Christianoupolis on November 9, 1975, and was ordained to the holy Priesthood by the same hierarch on February 22, 1976, at Annunciation Cathedral in San Francisco, California.

Father married Anastasia Sermetis of Athens, Greece, on August 31, 1975. They have been blessed with four children: Constantine (Carrie), Theodore (Sophia), Calliope and Elias. Presvytera holds a degree in Education from Lewis Univeristy and a Masters degree from Miami (Ohio) University and is a public school teacher.
 
Father Bill has served the following communities: Annunciation Cathedral in San Francisco, California (1975-78); Assumption in Town and Country, MO (1978-80); St. Athanasios in Aurora, IL (1980-86); and All Saints in Joliet, IL (1986-92). He was assigned to Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas on April 15, 1992. He received the distinction of "Economos" from His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos of Chicago in 1984 and in 1993 he was given the distinction of "Protopresbyter" by His Grace Bishop Timothy of Detroit. In 2000 Father Bill also received the title of "Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne".

Presently, Father Bill represents the Metropolis of Detroit on the Ohio Council of Churches and is a member of the Metropolis Council of the Metropolis of Detroit and the Archdiocesan Council. To contact Fr. Bill, click here.
 
 

Reverend Father Ciprian Streza

Father Ciprian was born on June 11, 1980 in Sibiu, Romania. He was raised in a priestly family, his father being a priest for more than 30 years.  After attanding the local schools, he enrolled in the Faculty of Theology, where he completed two years of theological studies. 

In January 2002, he transferred to the Hellenic College in Boston, from which he graduated in May 2005 with the highest distinction. In May 2007, Father Ciprian graduated Holy Cross School of Theology with high distinction, obtaining a degree in Masters of Divinity.

On July 9, 2005, Father married Sinziana Lavinia Sarbu, who was also born in a priestly family.  In 2006, Presvytera enrolled in Hellenic College, from which she graduated with a Bachellor of Arts, with major in Classic Studies and minor in Elementary Education. She is currently attending University of Cincinnati, persuing a Master Degree in Health Education.

On January 14, 2007 Father Ciprian was ordained by Metroplitan Nihcolas of Detroit to the holy Diaconate at the chapel of Holy Cross School of Theology in Boston. He served for six months on campus until June 3, 2007 when he was ordained by the same hierarch to the holy Priesthood at Holy Trinity - Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
