 Philoptochos - "ZOODOCHOS PEGHE" Chapter # 7026

  About Us

The Ladies Philoptochos Society has been the philanthropic arm of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the local Parish in the United States since its founding in 1931. There are over 400 chapters nationwide. The ZOODOCHOS PEGHE chapter here at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas was chartered on March 16, 1944. The local chapter is governed by the By-laws of the National Philoptochos of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. The mission of the Society is to be a "friend of the poor," which is its meaning in Greek. It fulfills its mission by aiding the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the sick, the orphaned, the widowed, the aged and infirm, the handicapped and the victims of disaster. Philoptochos also offers assistance to those who may need the help of the Church through special funds or solicitations on the National, Metropolitan and local levels. In addition to these philanthropic endeavors, the Philoptochos chapters strive to perpetuate and promote the Greek Orthodox faith and traditions and to preserve the sacredness of the Orthodox Christian family. Educational programs, lectures and seminars are another service of the organization. The Philoptochos participated in the activities of the Parish with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and Parish Council. To visit our National Philoptochos website, please click here !
